BelAZ working to sell vehicles to Qatar

The market may not exactly fit BelAZ's profile since there are no open-pit mining operations here where haul trucks are usually used

The Belarusian automobile engineering companies MAZ and BelAZ are working to sell vehicles to Qatar, BelTA learned from Ambassador of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates with concurrent accreditation to Qatar Roman Golovchenko.

The diplomat said: “Specialists from BelAZ and MAZ are working here.”

“The market may not exactly fit BelAZ's profile since there are no open-pit mining operations here where haul trucks are usually used. At the same time a great deal of work involving soil excavation in the course of major construction projects is being done here. This is why BelAZ is trying the market now. Qatari partners are definitely interested in BelAZ products,” said Roman Golovchenko.

The possibility of selling MAZ vehicles is under consideration as well. Qatari partners are interested in learning whether Belarus can offer a good deal in comparison with competitors.

“I can say that work is being done very actively with regard to both options,” added the Ambassador.
