Minsk Oblast invites Uzbekistan to breed cattle together

The Minsk Oblast authorities believe it is promising to set up a joint company with Uzbekistan to breed cattle on its territory, Minsk Oblast Vice Governor Nikolai Rogashchuk said at a plenary session of the 1st Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

In April 2019, the joint company Zdravushka-Tashkent was registered in Uzbekistan. There are plans to build a dairy farm for 1,000 head and a milk processing company. The parties approved a roadmap for the joint venture. Uzbekistan is set to design the farm. Belarus, in line with the agreements, is ready to provide consultative assistance regarding the technology. According to the roadmap, Belarus will run training courses for specialists from Uzbekistan in August.

“We are ready to suggest our Uzbek partners a joint cattle breeding company to be set up on our territory. I am confident that investment in the project will produce good yields,” Nikolai Rogashchuk said.

According to him, relations between the countries grow stronger thanks to cooperation between individual cities, for example, thanks to the agreement between Zhodino and Almalyk. Their partnership promises to be fruitful and long-term. supplies of BelAZ haulers are projected to increase in the near future. A major maintenance center will be set up in Tashkent for mining equipment. Work on the site is already underway. In January-May of this year, BelAZ delivered rock haulers worth almost $12 million to Uzbekistan.

In 2018 the export of Minsk Oblast to Uzbekistan approached $13 million, which was up by 76% over 2017. In January-May of this year the export rose three times year-on-year. Minsk Oblast major exports to Uzbekistan include vehicles, meat and dairy products, sugar, timber, and petroleum products.
