The 25th edition of the international wholesale exhibition Prodexpo 2019 will take place in Minsk on 12-15 November. The event will gather more than 150 producers from Belarus and foreign countries, Deputy Director for Engineering at the BelExpo Exhibiiton Center Evgeny Brigadny told a press conference on 5 November, BelTA has learned.
“Prodexpo is the largest specialized display of food products in Belarus. Over the years, it has established itself as an effective platform for negotiations and the presentation of new products. In total, the exhibition will feature more than 150 producers from different countries. A big exposition will be presented by Poland (more than ten companies). There will be a lot of representatives from Russia,” said Evgeny Brigadny.
Leading Belarusian manufacturers will also take part in the event. According to Svetlana Borodina, chief specialist at the goods delivery coordination department of Belgospischeprom Concern, the concern will exhibit eight stands to feature alcoholic, confectionary, sugar, salt and other products. “We will showcase the goods well-known for everyone and will also show new products. Minsk Kristall Group will showcase its calvados, Kommunarka will display 17 new types of chocolate. Among the participants will also be Spartak, Slutsk Sugar Refinery and others,” she added.
A big business forum Belarus' Food Industry Amid Deepening Integration will be organized this year. Its goal is to unite the best practices of domestic food and packaging producers. The forum will focus on innovative technologies, new solutions, achievements in public-private partnership and introduction of global trends in organic production.
A trading and purchasing session will make part of the program, said Evgeny Brigadny. The event will include blitz-negotiations between manufacturers and purchasers. More than 20 retail chains and about 80 representatives of manufacturers have been registered for the event.
Another new feature of the exhibition is its division into two parts. “The first two days (12-13 November) will feature a business program: entry is only on the preliminary registration for legal entities or by invitations from companies. On 14-15 November everyone will be able to visit the exposition with a ticket,” the representative of BelExpo said.
The international culinary competition will take place on 12-14 November. The competition will feature a series of workshops and contests between specialists from Belarus and foreign countries.
The exhibition is organized by the national exhibition center BelExpo with the assistance of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, and Belgospishcheprom Concern.
