A regular meeting of the Belarus-Kyrgyzstan intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation will take place in Minsk on 21 February. Preparations for the meeting were discussed by Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Kukharev and Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Belarus Ermek Ibraimov, BelTA learned from the press service of the government.

Vladimir Kukharev remarked that the parties need to compare notes prior to the upcoming event. “We would like to discuss what should be done to give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation,” he said.

In his turn, Ermek Ibraimov expressed gratitude to the Belarusian side for supporting the decision to upgrade the status of the chairmanship in the intergovernmental commission to the level of deputy prime minister. “The preparations for the meeting of the intergovernmental commission are in full swing at all levels. We also share Belarus' point of view that the level of our economic cooperation does not live up to our potential. We hope that in the nearest future the meeting of the commission will give an additional impetus to our economic relations. Our two-way statistics confirm growth in our trade and economic cooperation,” remarked the ambassador.

The agenda of the meeting includes nine issues. Among them are trade and economic cooperation opportunities, cooperation in manufacturing, energy and construction sectors, housing and utilities services and agriculture.
