Residents of the Central oblast can become plasma donors for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, Belarus 1 reports.

Biomaterial is accumulated at Minsk oblast blood transfusion station. Several dozen people who have overcome the coronavirus have already applied there. Components with antibodies are used in the most difficult cases. However, a unique archive of biomaterial is created in each region.

The very technology of storing blood components is very complex. Typically, plasma is in quarantine for six months, but now, in connection with the epidemiological situation, a unique technique, which is available in only a few clinics in Belarus, is helping to accelerate the process.

For example, plasma will be sent from the regional station to the Republican Center for Transfusiology, where it will be cleaned and frozen at a very low temperature.

By the way, a new PCR laboratory was opened in Molodechno. To get the result, specialists need about 6 hours. The institutes of the Academy of Sciences have helped with precision equipment. Now, analyzes come from four districts of Minsk region.
