The official opening of the inclusive beach with a barrier-free environment on the Zaslavsky reservoir will take place on June 27, BelTA informs with reference to the chairman of the Republican Association of Wheelchair-Disabled People Evgeny Shevko.

"The beach is already operational, you can say, now there are the last preparations. Various events will be held, including on the water. It will be possible to appear on boats, jet skis, swim. We’ll have a picnic, there will be other activities, ”said Yevgeny Shevko.

At the event, wheelchair users themselves will test and show how much the territory of the 9th beach on the Zaslavsky reservoir (in the area of the Yunost sanatorium) is adapted for their relaxation: like equipped wooden paths, a special pontoon, handrails in the place of launching into the water, a spacious dressing room and dry closet, other nuances make the rest of senior citizens, people with impaired vision, pregnant women and mothers with children more comfortable and affordable.

The creation of an inclusive beach was made possible thanks to the project "PlyazhIK", which became the finalist of Social Weekend and received the support of patrons. During the popular vote, 850 messages were received in support of this idea.

The idea is being implemented in partnership with the Republican Wheelchair Disabled Association. In the future, it is planned to conduct various events on the new beach, many of which are included in the plan of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism. For example, in the future there will be tourist gatherings, fishing competitions.

UE Minsk Forest Park economy unitary enterprise serving four reservoirs (Tsnyanskoye, Zaslavskoye, Drozdy and Krinitsa) plans this year to study the demand for such beaches and add elements of a barrier-free environment to other beaches as necessary.
