The Belarusian-Chinese friendship center has been opened at the Minsk Oblast Institute of Education Development, BelTA learned from the main education department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

Literature on history, culture, art and economic studies is available for visitors of the institution. There are reference books, guidebooks and maps in Chinese, educational and methodical literature, materials of the institute's methodologists. There are also media resources and programs in Chinese. Anyone can use laptops and tablets.

The center has received such opportunities thanks to the support of the BSU Confucius Institute, the Confucius Institute of Minsk State Linguistic University and the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology of Belarusian National Technical University.

The center also features photo albums that depict the most significant moments from the history of cooperation in education between Minsk Oblast and the provinces of China.

It is planned that interaction of Chinese language teachers will be organized at the center. Both Chinese language teachers and representatives of the administration of educational institutions can join the community of teachers. The community will exchange the best methodological practices, new ideas and teaching knowhow.

In summer the center will offer interactive materials developed by methodologists of Minsk Oblast Institute of Education Development for the organization of work with students.

The Belarusian-Chinese friendship center aims to expand interregional cooperation between Minsk Oblast and Chinese provinces in education and culture, as well as to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Belarus and China. The center has become the next stage in the development of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in education.

Today more than 1,300 students study Chinese in Minsk Oblast. Chinese classes operate in 21 Minsk Oblast general secondary institutions of education. The Chinese language is most popular in Molodechno District, Borisov District, Volozhin District and Smolevichi District.
