Kobyakov about salary of $500: Many companies have already reached the goal

Many Belarusian companies have already achieved the goal to provide the average salary of $500, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said in an interview to the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“The goal has already been attained at many companies in different sectors,” the premier said.

The salary of $500 should be earned and this is not only a goal for the government, he stressed. The focus is on the growth of the productivity of labor. The head of government said that in H1 2017 the real wages rose 102% in comparison with the same period last year, while the productivity of labor went up 102.7%.

“The salary of $500 can be gained only after a certain number of products, services produced and sold. Such a salary cannot be set for nothing. Such wages can be paid for a month or two, but then it leads to financial problems as it happened in Orsha. These problems in Orsha have already been addressed,” Andrei Kobyakov said.
