This year, more than 26 thousand people are planned to be admitted to the higher education institutions of Belarus, First Deputy Minister of Education Irina Starovoitova said at a press conference in the press center of BelTA.
"At the level of higher education this year it is planned to accept at the expense of the budget 26.6 thousand people, which is 0.7% higher than the admission plan for 2018. At the same time, in the daytime form of education, the increase is made at the expense of medical, IT specialties , as well as specialties of physical culture and sports. In the correspondence form of education, it is planned to reduce enrollment by 3.4%, "said Irina Starovoitova.
On a paid basis, it is planned to accept 28.2 thousand people, which is 1.5% more than the 2018 reception plan. "In the full-time form of education, the increase in volumes is carried out at the expense of IT-specialties and specialties of physical culture and sports. In absentia, a reduction of reception by 0.8% is planned," said the first deputy minister.
In total, in 2019, 54.7 thousand people are planned to be admitted to the higher educational institutions of the republic, which is 1% more than the reception plan for last year. The receipt of documents will be carried out by 49 universities, 42 of them are state-owned and 7 private.
