In January-July 2019 Belarus' export of merchandise and services dropped by 1.9% year-on-year to $23.623 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In January-July 2019 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $46.825 billion, 1.7% down from the same period in 2018. Export totaled $23.623 billion (1.9% down), import amounted to $23.202 billion (1.5% down). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $420.6 million, down from $528.4 million in January-July 2018.
Belarus' merchandise trade dropped by 2.9% to $38.537 billion. Merchandise export went down by 3.7% to $18.419 billion, with merchandise import down by 2.1% to $20.117 billion. Deficit totaled $1.698 billion. In January-July 2018 Belarus also had a deficit of $1.43 billion.
In January-July 2019 foreign trade in services reached $8.288 billion, 4.1% up year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $5.203 billion (4.9% up), with import at $3.084 billion (2.8% up). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $2.118 billion, up from $1.959 billion in January-July 2018.
