The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has started taking applications for participation in the nationwide contest Best Exporter of the Year 2019, BelTA has learned.

The main purpose of the contest is to stimulate the development of export-oriented manufacturing and bolster the prestige of Belarusian manufacturers on the international market. The contest will name winners in 22 nominations (mechanical engineering and metalworking, electronics and instrument engineering, metallurgy, food industry, agriculture, education, and other ones).

Commercial entities residing in Belarus and exporting their goods or services are invited to participate in the contest.

The contest will include two stages. The preliminary one began on 3 February. During this stage regional commissions will choose participants with the best financial and economic performance. During the final stage (18 March) a national commission operating under the aegis of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will name winners.

The Best Exporter of the Year contest is held every year. It is organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) in association with various government agencies, the oblast administrations, the Minsk City Executive Committee, business unions, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), the insurance company Eximgarant of Belarus, and the Administration of the Hi-Tech Park.
