Belarus' central bank has compiled a list of systemically important banks in order to limit the risks of banks and non-bank financial institutions that can influence the stability of the banking system in 2021, BelTA learned from the information and public relations department of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
The group of systemic importance I includes Belarusbank, Belagroprombank, Belgazprombank, BPS-Sberbank, Priorbank, BelVEB Bank, Belinvestbank.
The group of systemic importance II includes Alpha Bank, VTB Bank (Belarus), MTBank, Dabrabyt Bank, Paritybank, BNB-Bank.
These banks have been recognized as systemically important on the basis of the comprehensive assessment of their systemic importance in terms of such indicators as the scale of the bank's activities, interconnectedness with resident banks, the importance for the economy and interconnectedness with non-residents.
These indicators are calculated in accordance with the guidelines for determining systemically important banks and non-bank financial institutions.
In 2021, the banks recognized as systemically important need to ensure the compliance with the regulatory capital adequacy standards which is determined taking into account the buffer of systemic importance.
In addition, the board of directors (supervisory board) of these banks should set up a remuneration committee headed by an independent director.
