Belarus' GDP projected to increase by 21.5% by 2025

Belarus' GDP is projected to grow by 21.5% by 2025, Belarus' Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov said as he presented the guidelines of Belarus' social and economic development program for 2021-2025 to the media, BelTA has learned. 

"We expect the GDP to expand by 21.5% over the five-year period. Real disposable incomes are forecast to increase by 20%, investments by 22%," Aleksandr Chervyakov noted. 

Belarus' commodities and services export is predicted to exceed $50 billion. 

The state will continue to maintain a social focus, the main goal of which is to increase people's well-being. The emphasis will be made on income, prices, employment, housing affordability, and high-tech healthcare and education services,” the minister said. 

Four priorities of the program are happy family, strong regions, intellectual country, state a partner. 

The minister noted that the final version of the 2025 program will be approved after the Belarusian People's Congress. 

Not only government agencies but also business unions, BEROC Economic Research Center and IPM Business School participated in the preparation of the document.
