More and more people from all parts of Belarus try to make their contribution to such an important charity initiative as Our Children, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the Christmas children's party held on 23 December as part of Our Children campaign.

Speaking at the event, the President extended holiday season greetings to all school students. “This is a special time when you want to do some good things, share joy and good humor with people around you. There is a saying “The way you spend New Year's Eve is the way you will spend the rest of the year”. I want you to feel happy as you celebrate the arrival of the year 2017. I want every child to feel that they are loved and needed. Today's celebrations continue Our Children campaign,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

Representatives of the country's authorities and business join the campaign and visit children throughout Belarus to wish them Happy New Year and Merry Christmas.

The head of state emphasized that many events are held as part of the initiative. The President of Belarus said: “More and more people from all parts of Belarus try to make their contribution to this important initiative in an effort to make our world a better place. We can consider the year wasted if there are no happy faces around.”

The President noted that we live on a beautiful, generous land, and we have much to be proud of. We have a great and glorious history, rich culture, beautiful nature. But the most important thing that we have is our sincere and hardworking people. Many generations of the Belarusians have been working on our land, taking care and defending it. They built factories where your parents work now. They looked into the future. We should look far ahead into the future of Belarus. It is you who will be responsible for the development of our country in 20, 30 or 50 years,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.

Childhood and adolescence are very important periods in the life of a person. This is the time to learn. “You can practice your favorite sport, become good musicians, or start learning fine art or any other type of art. Teachers will teach you everything you want to learn. We, adults, will always help you in all good endeavors,” the head of state noted.
