More than 17 thousand people were employed by the employment services of Minsk region last year

In Minsk region, employment agencies employed 17,418 people in 2020, of which 7111 were previously listed as unemployed, BelTA said.

According to the head of the department for employment of the population of Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Lyudmila Palaznik, the primary task was to find jobs for all people who applied in search of work.

- The pandemic did not affect the work of employment services in any way, most companies continued to recruit staff, so it was possible to get a job. - said Lyudmila Palaznik.

762 unemployed people were sent for vocational retraining in 2020. The most popular professions for retraining were the professions in the basics of entrepreneurship, boiler operator, forklift driver, cook, hairdresser and manicurist.

As of January 1, 2021, 1325 people were registered with the employment authorities, including 797 unemployed. Of these, 466 are men and 331 are women.
