Early spring grain and leguminous crops (without corn, buckwheat, millet) were sown in Belarus for 804.2 thousand hectares, which makes up 91.5% of the planned areas, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Earlier all work began in the southern regions, as a result, in the Brest and Gomel regions, the sowing of early spring grain has already been completed. In the Grodno region, these crops are sown on 90.7% of the planned areas, Minsk - 93.2%, Mogilev - 93.1%, Vitebsk - 72.1%.
Northern flax planting in Belarus was carried out on 14.9 thousand hectares (29% of the plan). Sugar beet has already been sown on 43.6 thousand hectares (45.4% of the plan). Planting of potatoes (1.02 thousand hectares, or 4.14% of the planned) and vegetables (1.25 thousand hectares, or 22.3%) began. Corn for grain was sown on 16.54 thousand hectares (7.42% of the plan), for silage - by 4.3 thousand hectares (0.53% of the plan).
As reported, this year, spring sowing is planned to hold on 2.4 million hectares, of which spring crops and leguminous crops will be placed on an area of more than 1 million hectares (including 878.9 thousand hectares of early spring crops). It is planned to sow flax flax on an area of 51.4 thousand hectares, sugar beet - 96 thousand hectares, potatoes - 24.5 thousand hectares.
