In the Gomel region there are enough reserves to increase the production and sale of livestock products. Conviction was expressed in an interview with a BelTA correspondent by the Acting Chairman, First Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Gennady Solovey.
Among the main sources of reserve for increasing the production of livestock products are livestock growth, increasing animal productivity, improving the herd structure and quality indicators of the products themselves. "In addition, it is important to balance the livestock reserves with the reserves of crop production, as well as to reduce to zero the violation of technological discipline," said Gennady Solovey.
Today, experts discuss the quarterly results of the livestock industry in the region at a regional seminar in Rogachev district.
As described in the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee, in the first quarter of this year, the leading organizations in milk production per cow retain the agricultural organizations of the Mozyr district (1,817 kg). The indicator of growth to the level of January-March 2018 was 121 kg. An increase of 123 kg was demonstrated in the first three months of the year in the Narovlya district: in the first quarter, milk yield amounted to 1,456 kg.
The highest daily productivity in growing and fattening cattle (more than 620 g) is noted in the agricultural organizations of Rechitsa, Narovlya, Petrikov and Mozyr districts. “In the Petrikovsky ChUP Polesye-Agroinvest, the average daily increase exceeded 780 g, in March - 813 g,” the committee gave an example. Such a result allowed the named enterprise to rise in the rating regional table for this indicator from the 11th row (according to the 2018 results) to the third (for March 2019).
The participants of the seminar-meeting attend livestock facilities of several agricultural organizations of the Rogachev district, analyze technologies for keeping, feeding, milking cows, raising young cattle. An important issue on the agenda is the implementation of veterinary measures to improve the safety of livestock. On the eve of the summer-pasture livestock maintenance, the readiness of agro-industrial complex organizations for grazing is also being considered. It is planned that this year more than 98 thousand cows and over 55 thousand heifers will go to pastures in the region.
Such topics as carrying out spring field work, restoring order in the engine yards, preparing equipment for forage preparation will not be ignored.
The result of the event will be developed a set of measures, the implementation of which will allow to achieve the goals.
