Belarus and China believe that it is important to scale up cooperation in the defense sector. The matter was in focus of the meeting of Belarus Defense Minister Andrei Ravkov with China's Minister of National Defense Wei Fenghe, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 9th Beijing Xiangshan Forum “Maintaining International Order and Promoting Peace in the Asia-Pacific”. The parties shared views on the topical issues of the regional and international security agenda. They emphasized the importance of strengthening relations in the defense sector. This pertains to joint military training, military education and interaction within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Andrei Ravkov also met Serbian Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin to discuss bilateral cooperation.
At the forum Andrei Ravkov delivered a report “International arms control systems and global security: Belarus' perspective”.
