In Belarus, 37.8% of housing commissioned in 2018 was built for the needy, BelTA was told in the National Statistics Committee.
In 2018, organizations of all forms of ownership built 46.5 thousand apartments. More than 3.966 million square meters of total housing area was commissioned. For citizens who are registered in need of better housing conditions, 1,498.1 thousand square meters were commissioned, or 37.8% of the total amount of housing commissioned.
Of the total for citizens who are registered in need of better housing conditions, 999.3 thousand square meters have been built using state support.
In rural areas, 1117.4 thousand square meters of total housing area was commissioned (28.2% of the total input in the republic).
